Mr. Alok Kumar Agarwal

A detail-oriented, efficient, and organised former Chairman of Alankit Group, Mr. Alok Kumar Agarwal, carries 38+ years of extensive experience in the finance sector. Possessing strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-thought-out decisions, he has been associated with the capital market & commodities exchange since 1995 . Mr. Agarwal’s drive, dedication, and strategic business acumen are the key aspects behind the phenomenal transformation of his business and him as a businessman. The right blend of fiscal prudence and continuous innovation for long-term growth is his robust business philosophy which he strongly believes.
Mr. Alok Kumar Agarwal is credited with having founded Alankit Group. Although he was born into a family of modest means, the Company he founded became one of India’s market leaders and a widely renowned name. He is a prominent Chartered Accountant.
Born on January 10, 1958, he hails from Bareilly, U.P. During his early 30’s, Mr. Agarwal went on to establish the Company under the name Alankit. Fast forward to 1995, and the Company saw itself renamed Alankit Limited. This Company would ultimately go on to enter the realms of finance as well as Fintech. Following his retirement in 2021, the Company was taken over by his son – Mr. Ankit Agarwal.

Mr. Agarwal is an insightful businessman with unending love for numbers (as he is a Chartered Accountant by profession) who was willing to take risks and was aware of the importance of marketing. Moreover, he understood the need to build inventories in order to generate income. Armed with this knowledge, he decided to launch Alankit Group, which takes care of multiple products and services serving all the angles of the financial and Fintech arena.

While this Company initially focused on the Trading and Registrar and Shares Transfer Agents (RTA), it eventually expanded to include several other financial services. His business model followed a strategy of providing superior quality products and services while accepting smaller profits than his competitors. Owing to this very fact, therefore, it is no surprise that his business began to grow and expand.

When Mr. Alok Kumar Agarwal realised that his company had gone as far as it could in terms of financial products and services, he began focusing on other services such as e-Governance, Insurance Broking, and Healthcare.

In 2014, Mr. Alok Agarwal decided to hand over the Company’s day-to-day functioning to his son – Mr. Ankit Agarwal; however, he continued to oversee the Company until 2021, when he finally stepped down as the Chairman of the Group.

Under his leadership, Alankit has partnered with several Ministries associated with the Government of India and has expanded the collaboration with the country’s leading nationalised banks.

Educational Qualification

Mr. Alok Kumar Agarwal holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Certified Financial Consultant conferred by the Institute of Financial Consultants.

He has successfully completed a training programme on Health Insurance for CEOs/CAOs of TPA at the Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad.

Additionally, Mr. Agarwal has also qualified for NCFM- Derivatives, DP Operations, Capital Market, and Mutual Fund segments.
